JAMNAGAR, INDIA
This public water tap in Jamnagar, India, is a simple but effective drinking fountain. Drinking cups are left on the ledge, reminiscent of early drinking fountains in London and of the Paris Wallace Fountain cups that were removed as late as the 1960’s. Because private water taps in homes remain much less pervasive in India, many people still use public water fountains for their primary water source. Many people that I observed were using the taps to fill large bottles.
